12 amazing ‘post-lockdown’ events happening in Hull this week

The full-fat clubbing experience is back, and Hull’s venues are open to celebrate. This week in Hull we’ve got theatre, live-music gigs, as well as stand-up comedy, and some amazing club nights. Check out and book a ticket for one of these amazing events happening this week.

1. SIX The Musical (*UPDATE – This event is to be rescheduled)

6 dates · Tuesday 20th July – Sunday 25th July 2021.

“From Tudor queens to pop princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII finally take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing 500 years of historical heartbreak into an 80-minute celebration of 21st-century girl power. These Queens may have green sleeves but their lipstick is rebellious red.”

This is a definite unmissable event for those musical fans who’ve been craving the experience of sitting down and watching a musical in person, go grab a ticket here.

2. Hull Dub Club

Thursday 22nd July 2021 (starts 8:00 pm)

“Dub Junction invites you to the very first edition of Hull Dub Club!

With Simma at the controls representing Dub Junction, alongside special guest selectors from York’s Irie Vibes Sound System crew. Plus warmup selection from John Peters / Funkywormhole. Expect a night of heavyweight dub, reggae, roots + steppas (Check the vibe at dubjunction.com/radio)”

3. The K’s + The Estevans | Hull

Thursday 22nd July 2021 (11:30am to 3pm)

“Welcome to the world of The K’s. If you’re familiar with one of the biggest underground success stories in rock & roll, make yourself at home. If you haven’t encountered their impassioned bangers, catch up: these four young men are a word-of-mouth phenomenon that’s rapidly becoming too huge to ignore.“

4. Jelly

Thursday 22nd July (every Thursday night from the 22nd)

Welly is opening its doors to welcome you to its premiere weekly Indie music night, Jelly. DJ’s will be playing classics from a huge range of indie bands on the night that will be sure to get you up and dancing, grab a ticket here in the next couple of days to make sure you’ve got one for this unmissable event.

5. The Hull Record Fair

Saturday 24th July 2021 (Starts 10am)

“Presented by Wrecking Ball  Music & Books. This great fair has record dealers from all over the UK join at the Minster for this bi-monthly event. With a wide range of LPs, CDs, DVDs, Limited Editions, Picture Disks, 7”, 10” and 12” records, there is no doubt you will either find that special item for yourself or to gift.”

Entry to this event is free so make sure you get on over to Hull Minster in the city centre and sift through some vinyl to find the next gem for your collection.

6. Hull Soul Club

Friday 23nd July 2021 (Starts at 7pm)

“Next Hull Soul Club is Friday 23rd July. Two rooms of soul with Dave West as guest DJ in the main room with residents Daryl, Oxo, Evo & Steve Gill.

Modern room back as well with Daryl, Ricki & James so remember to give it a try. 8pm – 1am & only £3 on the door.”

This amazing event is back and will be an amazing night for anyone who loves soul music, or anyone else who just loves to listen to music and dance, entry is £3 on the door. Get ready to have an amazing night post lockdown.

7. Crissy Rock Live

Sunday 25th July 2021 (starts 7pm)

“Crissy Rock is an actress and comedian from Liverpool. She notably played Janey in ITV’s Benidorm. She also appeared on the 11th series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! , To have the Fantastic Steve Harris supporting Crissy is going to be one night you will remember.“

8. Fleetwood Mac Tribute Night – Go Your Own Way

Saturday 24th July 2021 (11am -3pm) in O’Rileys

“Formed in 2019 from talented and enthusiastic West Yorkshire based musicians to pay tribute to the music and artistry of Fleetwood Mac, “Go Your Own Way” are rapidly establishing themselves as a leading Fleetwood Mac tribute act. Vocally, Angela Naylor is the nearest thing to Stevie Nicks, other than Stevie Nicks herself and the musicians are able to replicate that Fleetwood Mac live sound of their 1970’s heyday.”

Any music lovers… and any fans of Fleetwood Mac will really want to head to this event and enjoy the music of the UK’s biggest bands in the 50+ years.

9. THE STREET PARTY 2021 // ShapeShifters

Saturday 24th July (Starts 3pm)

This awesome event comprises of 9 stages around the old school house and courtyard with tons of DJ’s playing massive amounts of classic electronic music that’s going to get you dancing all night.

10. Millie Manders & The Shutup

Friday 23rd July 2021 (Starts at 7pm)

“Millie Manders and The Shutup bring high energy ska punk plus support from Hull’s punk rockers Cats That Bark & Trizzy with some quality live rap.”

Ska punk fans will not want to miss this event, a great band headlong and some awesome support acts alongside. Grab a ticket here and get your dancing shoes on.

11. Salvador + Rolling Over

Friday 23rd July 2021 (Starts 8pm)

“Salvador are an alternative rock / post punk band formed in Hull. The debut album Head (Plagiarising The Criminally Insane) was released December 18th 2020.+ Support from Rolling Over”

Anyone who wants to support some awesome local music talent will not want to miss this event, entry is free! Make sure you get down to Adelphi for this, seriously.

12. Headland Festival – Pre-Party Hull

Saturday 24th July 2021 (Starts 8pm)

“Saturday 24th July We can finally get up and dance with no restrictions at The Adelphi!
DJ’s: End of level baddie, James Orvis, The Don, Simma, Mothman, Luke Bowe.”

An event at the Adelphi packed full of DJ’s and its has no restrictions… we must be dreaming. You’re not dreaming, this event is set to be an amazing night to remember post-lockdown, so don’t forget to grab a ticket here and enjoy a night of normality.
