Keeping the kids entertained and fed during the school holidays can sometimes be a challenge. But there are plenty of cafes, pubs and restaurants in Hull & East Yorkshire which really do welcome children and families, making dining out as a family a nice experience for everyone.

So our friends at Hull & East Riding Mumbler have pieced together this list of some of the best places to eat with the kids to right now. These places are not all ‘exclusively’ for families or children but they have all shown thoughtful touches or great facilities (things like play areas, pushchair access, changing facilities, high chairs).

Ambiente Tapas Hull

Ambiente Tapas, 5 Humber Street, Hull, HU1 1TG

Situated in the family-friendly Fruit Market, Ambiente Hull is a vibrant and spacious warehouse-turned-restaurant serving Spanish-inspired tapas. With a spacious, open-plan ground floor, there’s room for the whole family with ample space for push chairs as well.

Ambiente’s menu boasts plenty of kid-approved dishes (think patatas bravas, calamares & croquettes!), without the adults having to compromise on their dining experience. As it’s all made for sharing, your kids can discover their adventurous eating side as they can try a little of everything. The establishment will also help you keep them entertained with their kids packs. Ambiente is also Breastfeeding Friendly and the establishments Hull restaurant has a groundfloor babychanging facility, ensuring mums can dine out with their baby in confidence.

Ambiente’s stunning menu is inspired by tapas served in traditional Spanish ‘tabancos’ and in true Spanish style, for the adults out there, the drinks list contains so much sherry we guarantee you’ll be back for more.
