I don’t know about you, but I’ve been eating out a hell of a lot more this month. But this is no surprise; 50% discount at all of my favourite restaurants is more than enough to get me out the house. Here are some of my favourite restaurants and eateries which I have already eaten at this month and some that I plan on visiting before the scheme ends.

Only

Trinity Market, City Centre

Pesto Mac & Cheese from Only

Only is one of my favourite spots for lunch; especially when I’m at work. Only serve fantastic plant based food including pizza, mac n cheese, sweet things and daily specials in the city centre’s Trinity Market. I ate here last week and had the pesto mac n cheese which is my personal favourite. It tasted even better with 50% off. If you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just enjoy yummy food, check it out.

Head of Steam

10 King Street, City Centre

Head of Steam serves some absolutely amazing food. And now they have outdoor seating with a fantastic view of Hull Minster which is great with this month’s weather. Plus they offer a great range of craft, cask, world beers and ciders along with a premium range of spirits – alcohol isn’t on the scheme, but when in Rome…

I tried to eat here last week but there were no tables available, so I will be trying again this month.

The Barista

141 Newland Avenue

If you’ve ever met me, you’ve probably heard me talk about The Barista; that’s because they make some of my favourite coffee in the city. But this time the food takes centre stage.

The Barista ‘take great pride in serving locally roasted speciality coffee, fresh food prepared using the best ingredients available’. What more could you want? I haven’t eaten at The Barista since February but they can expect to see me this month.

Sleepers

47-49 Newland Avenue & 1, Regal Court, Norwood, Beverley

You’ve probably heard of Sleepers so I’m not going to bore you with the details. I ate here last week and put myself into a small food coma after eating the colossal Halloumi burger. 10/10 is the likelihood I’ll put myself in a food coma again (I probably will).

Marla’s Sandwich Shop

17 Paragon Arcade

Does it get better than a great sandwich? Well Marla’s are the kings of sandwiches, and now you can get them for 50% less – fantastic stuff. I haven’t been to Marla’s since before lockdown and I am seriously missing it.

Located in the city centre’s Paragon Arcade, Marla’s is the perfect place for lunch and I for one will be visiting ASAP.
