With some bigger chains recently moving to the city we thought it was time to shine a light on some of Hull’s best independent watering holes.

The People’s Republic

The People’s Republic bar on Newland Avenue was established in 2016, serving world beers on tap and playing world music on vinyl, every day.

Mr Moody’s Tavern

6 Newland Avenue, Hull HU5 3AF

Mr. Moody’s Tavern is the new Henry Yeast, now back with its original owners and bringing a new vibe to Newland Avenue. Mr. Moody’s can be found down Newland Avenue, serving a large selection of ales, beers, and ciders from around the world.

DIVE HU5 is an independent bar, music venue and coffee shop located on the busy, and popular Princes Avenue in Hull.

“Something in between Berlin, Tokyo, and New York. Light and chilled Coffee Shop through the day. Neon lit atmospheric bar/music venue by night.” It’s truly is a one-of-a-kind place. There are lots of events during the week from Karaoke on a Tuesday night to Danger zone on a Friday night.

Off The Road – Live Lounge

80 Days Bier House

80 days bier haus are a small independent bar, bottle shop/off licence and webshop , downstairs at Union Mash Up selling world beers. Their Fridges are stocked with some of the most incredible craft bier from around the world! As well as seating out the front, you can pick up some of their finest biers for take out.
