Ever since its conception, Bonus Arena has been attracting huge acts from across the country, and even the globe. It seems like almost everyday we’re seeing a new announcement from the arena who hosts live music, stand-up comedy, theatre, and sports events.
We’ve rounded up some of the biggest and the best events taking place this year at Hull’s Bonus Arena so you don’t miss out.
1. Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott
Sunday 24th & Monday 25th October 2021
Hull legends Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot are playing the bonus arena for two nights only. The pair are local music legends having Having been in some of the UK’s most loved bands back in the 80’s and 90’s, the Housemartins and the beautiful south. Both will be performing a mix of mix of hits from both bands.

2. The Specials
Monday 13th September 2021
Two tone ska legends, The Specials, are set to play in Bonus Arena on the 13th of September. The band have a career over 4 decades with classics such as “Ghost Town” and “Message to you Rudy” and they still continue to keep making making music, they released their first new full length studio album in over 38 years in 20219 to critical acclaim and cementing their legend status.

3. Blondie (With Special Guests Garbage)
Thursday 11th November 2021
American band, Blondie, are making a stop in Hull’s Bonus Arena in what is their first UK tour in 4 years, the band are playing across the UK on a 10 date tour and will be arriving in Hull on the 11th of November. Classic songs such as ‘Heart Of Glass’, ‘Atomic’, ‘Tide Is High’, ‘Maria’ and ‘Sunday Girl’ may feature in the setlist so you don’t want to miss this. Joining them on their UK tour this year is the band, Garbage.

4. BRING ME THE HORIZON
Monday 20th September 2021
“BRIT and Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum-selling quintet Bring Me The Horizon is one of the most electrifying and successful rock bands to emerge from the UK.”
Bring Me The Horizon are hitting Bonus Arena’s stages on 20th September 2021 to play music from their 2020 EP release ‘POST HUMAN: SURVIVAL HORROR’ and provide an electrifying live show as always.

5. Bullet for My Valentine
Tuesday 2nd November 2021
“Since Bullet For My Valentine formed in 1998, the Welsh metallers have become one of the biggest bands in metal, selling over 3 million albums worldwide and scoring three gold albums, as well as defining British metalcore with their now classic debut, The Poison.“

6. Comic Con 2021
Sunday 21st November 2021
Hull’s Comic con is set to make a big comeback after having to reschedule due to the current COVID 19 pandemic. This event is for everyone that is a fan of TV and film, comic books, cosplaying and more… with a wide variety of guests and activities being planned as well as some possible special events, this event focuses on the social aspects of the community and really brings everyone together.

7. Bill Bailey – En Route to Normal
Sunday 19th December 2021
“The comic – who is about to go into Strictly Come Dancing – has unveiled 12 big dates for the new show “En Route To Normal”, including a Boxing Day gig at Wembley Arena in London.”
Since starting comedy in 1989, Bill Bailey has used his creative genius to mix up music and joke telling to create a comedy style that has cemented him as one of the UK’s best comic’s in the last 20 years. Bill will be performing a creative show packed full of jokes on the 19th of December.

8. Tim Minchin
Wednesday 3rd November 2021
“TIM MINCHIN, award-winning comedian, actor and composer, has confirmed new UK dates of his BACK tour this autumn.“
Comedian, actor and composer, Tim Minchin is a comedic force to be reckoned with, his comedic/musical style touches a million different subjects and he will make you laugh every time without fail. BACK is Tim’s first UK tour in 8 years, he will be arriving in Hull on the 3rd of November to play at Bonus Arena and fill the arena with laughs and good times.

9. Professor Brian Cox – Horizons
Tuesday 5th & Wednesday 6th October 2021
“Horizons. A 2021 Space Odyssey with Professor Brian Cox to take audiences on a dazzling cinematic journey.”
Brian Cox is set to arrive at Hull’s Bonus Arena on the 5th and 6th of October to bring an cinema experience to Hull. The show will use state of the art LED technology to fill the arena with images of far-away galaxies, alien worlds, supermassive black holes in order to recreate a time before the Big Bang and try to explain why our universe exists.
