An authentic Japanese sushi bar, Oishii Ne Asian Food Co., has opened inside Hull’s Paragon Arcade, following a successful stint as a pop-up within the city centre shopping arcade.

Tom Would, the owner of Oishii Ne Asian Food Co. has taken on the venue full-time, giving the unit an entire makeover with an authentic-look, so local sushi fans can have a permanent place to get their fix.

Local property developers, Allenby Commercial acquired the Victorian Shopping Arcade in Hull city centre late 2017 and have been working with local startups within the city to form an iconic destination for handmade gifts, local food and more. Only last week, a different unit was taken up by a new tattoo parlour.

Announcing the new opening on Facebook, Oishii Ne wrote:

“In 5 weeks we’ve turned our little spot down Paragon Arcade into a fully authentic Japanese Restaurant. We are super proud of how quick we managed to flip everything around and can’t wait for you all to see it.

“There are now 6 tables with 22 seats upstairs and we will be serving our Japanese Izakaya specials along with a cracking selection of drinks including craft beer and Sake. Take away still available too or feel free to sit outside and people watch.

“Our first permanent location and in such a beautiful spot, we are looking forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones. “

The new eatery is offering a range of sushi, gyoza, karaage and ramen dishes, changing up the menu each week to keep it fresh and interesting. They’ll also serve vegan sushi and plant-based gyoza.
