Award-winning Hull call centre specialist ResQ is continuing to invest into its operations within the city having agreed to move part of its workforce into a recently revamped office complex.

The hugely successful business, which already employs 2,000 people, has taken space at Cherry Tree Court, a three-storey complex in Ferensway which was formerly the offices of HM Revenue and Customs.

The complex has been extensively revamped thanks to a £2m investment by property management company FI Real Estate Management, and is just a stone’s throw away from ResQ’s other offices in the Hammonds of Hull building.

Plans were recently announced to take a second floor in that development and increase staff numbers from 900 to 1,200.

Now, due to ‘the continuing growth of the business’ ResQ has taken another 175 spaces, over 6,500sq ft of floor space in Cherry Tree Court.

The move has seen staff who have been based in Criterion House, George Street, move into their new home alongside Hull Trains and flexible office provider FigFlex Offices, who are also based in the building.

The space also ensures the business has capacity to add more new members to its team as contracts with clients continue to grow.

Gill Marchbank, CEO of ResQ, said: “In the current economic climate, we are proud that our growth as a business means that we are able to create new jobs and career opportunities for people in the local community.

“The incredible vision, leadership and passion that our people show in delivering great results for our clients means that we are able to forecast growth and commit to the creation of new jobs, in fantastic new office spaces in the heart of Hull.”

Paul White, Director of Garness Jones, oversaw the deal and says the move emphasises the importance of reinvesting in office space within the city.

“The continued growth and success of ResQ – and its commitment as a business to basing so many employees in Hull city centre – demonstrates the benefits of providing modern, welcoming, high quality work environments.

“We need to be continually refurbishing older buildings to provide modern office developments which appeal to not only successful businesses here in Hull, but others which are based outside of the city, but would benefit from establishing a workforce here.

“Over the past couple of years we have seen excellent office developments along this stretch of Ferensway, which of course is a hugely important area of the city as it acts as a gateway into Hull for visitors through the rail station.

“We have seen ResQ now take close to 1,400 spaces over two floors in the Hammonds of Hull building and now also at Cherry Tree Court.

“These developments, along with the excellent Worx Hull on the corner of Spring Bank, have set the standard for what can be achieved in terms of revamping old office buildings and creating modern, vibrant working spaces.

“There was a suggestion that offices would be a thing of the past in the wake of the pandemic and the influx of home working, but what we are seeing at present is a surge in demand for quality office space.

“Businesses want staff to be in the office to ensure they can learn and develop, and because people thrive from being around others by sharing and developing ideas.

“Equally, staff now want to work for companies where their office space provides that something extra, not just a row of desks, but somewhere appealing and enjoyable to work, and of course in a busy location such as a city centre.

“That is what we are seeing with these latest developments. We need more investment like this because the demand is certainly there.”
