Beverley cinema bring back ‘Cans Film Festival’ in aid of local food banks

Parkway Cinemas are thrilled to announce the return of their ‘Cans Film Festival’, a charitable event that offers the public the chance to see a film in exchange for donating two cans of food that will be given to local food banks.

A playful homage to the famous French film festival, Parkway are offering anyone who donates the choice of a free ticket to see either Disney’s Encanto or the swashbuckling animation, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish at a showing on Saturday 20th May at 11am.

After the huge success of their previous donation drives, Parkway hopes this year will be the biggest yet and help more people in need in the local area.

Andy Cooper, general manager at Parkway Beverley, said: “We’ve been running Cans for a couple of years now and it’s such a unique way for film lovers to come together and support the community at a time when the use of food banks is at a record high. We’d love to beat last year’s donation total so please get involved!”

Tickets can only be collected in the cinema during box office hours while handing in your donation. One ticket will be issued per person for every two cans donated. More information can be found on the Parkway Cinema Beverley Facebook page.
