Big name comedians coming to Hull this Autumn

Our city’s premier venues Hull City Hall, Bonus Arena, and Comedy Lounge will play host to a suite of comedic talent this Autumn. Courtesy of the side-splitting talent on offer, Hullensians partial to a laugh will be spoilt for choice! To that end, fill your boots and find out who and what are performing via my list below!

Katherine Ryan: Missus

Friday 30th September at 19:00 @ Bonus Arena

Comedy superstar and creator of the Netflix smash hit The Duchess, Katherine Ryan returns to the stage this Autumn with her new production, Missus. Brace yourself for Katherine’s hilarious new perspectives on life, love, and what it means to be the ‘missus’!

Jon Richardson: The Knitwit

Saturday 1st October at 19:00 @ Bonus Arena

Best known as team captain on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Cats Countdown and host of Ultimate Worrier, Jon Richardson brings his new production, The Knitwit, to Hull this Autumn where in typical anecdotalist fashion he will explore coming to grips with life in the post-lockdown era.

Bobby Davro

Sunday 9th October at 19:00 @ Comedy Lounge

Bobby Davro, the veteran of comedy, television, pantomime, and all-around expert entertainer is booked for a laugh-out-loud extravaganza at The Comedy Lounge in October. Bobby has appeared on East Enders, Dancing on Ice and Your Face Sounds Familiar but is perhaps best known for his work as an impressionist, with credits such as ‘Live from His Majestys’, On the Box, Sketch Pad, The Heat is On and Run the Risk to his name.

Jason Manford: Like Me

Wednesday 12th October at 18:30 @ Bonus Arena

Nationally acclaimed comedian Jason Manford is in Hull next month with his new show, Like Me. Having enjoyed something of a busy hiatus these last few years, Jason is set to deliver the expert observational comedy that we have come to know and love from his many TV appearances on programmes such as Have I Got News For You, QI and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

Jack Dee: Off the Telly

Wednesday 19th October at 20:00 @ Hull City Hall

Long-standing comedian Jack Dee will grace Hull this autumn as part of his Jack Dee: Off the Telly production. Jack is known for his deadpan, dry, and sarcastic humour and has a host of credits to his name including sitcoms such as Bad Move, Lead Balloon and Josh as well as television gigs like I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, Shooting Stars, Jack Dee: Live at the Apollo and Celebrity Big Brother which he actually won in 2001.

Hull Comedy Festival

2nd – 20th November 2022 – Hull City Centre (Various Venues)

Hull’s annual comedy festival returns for it’s 16th time this year and it’s going to be a blast!

Hull What’s On are partnering with the festival to bring comedians to Hull from all over the UK. There will be over 30 live gigs with many free events you can go to.

Dave Gorman – Powerpoint to the People

Dave Gorman, the man behind the hit TV shows Modern Life is Goodish and Are You Dave Gorman? brings his brand new comedy production to Hull in November on the strength of high praise from critics across the country; for example, The Evening Standard recently waxed lyrical, ‘ [an] exquisitely constructed show from a comic who is at the top of his game’.

Jimmy Carr: Terribly Funny

Like most on this list, Jimmy Carr needs no introduction, his unmistakable laugh and disdain for political correctness are known throughout the land. Happily, Jimmy brings his new production, Terribly Funny to Hull in November, and, unsurprisingly, it contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things.

Kevin Bloody Wilson

Tuesday 15th November at 19:30 @ Hull City Hall

International comedian and native Aussie Kevin Wilson will throw Hull audiences into the firing line this November with his production Kevin Bloody Wilson. Being something of a PC antidote whereby he says what he thinks and means what he says, Kevin Wilson shall channel every ounce of his Aussie-infused comedic ability to tackle political correctness head-on—expect controversy!

Ray Bradshaw (SOLD OUT)

Ray Bradshaw comes to Hull on the back of massive success recently having been handpicked to support John Bishop on his recent arena tour as well as by Frankie Boyle on his last tour tours. What’s more, Ray’s last show Deaf Comedy Fam was a huge multi-award-winning success. All the signs point towards lengthy continued success with his eponymous latest production The Ray Bradshaw which details the madness of becoming a first-time dad during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Jack Carroll

Jack Carroll, Britain’s Got Talent Runner-Up, Star of BBC’s Live at the Apollo and QI and Sky sitcom Trollied, as well as award-winning movie Eaten by Lions brings his production Walking Funny to Hull in November where he will explore the lighter side of life with Cerebral Palsy in the modern world.
