The Bonus Arena, Hull have announced that they’re planning to reopen after 21 June, in-line with the government lockdown roadmap.
Hull’s largest concert venue has been closed since the start of the pandemic, and has regularly had to reschedule existing shows with not knowing how long the lockdown restrictions will last. However, with the government laying out their planned release of lockdown restrictions, the Bonus Arena have now been able to make more secure plans, today announcing more shows and firming up their event calendar. Here are the shows first five on the schedule if it all goes to plan and they can reopen on 21 June.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Professionals
Saturday 3 July 2021 – 2:30pm & 7:30pm
The two planned dates for the 2021 tour have now been moved from 27 & 28 May, and will now take place on Saturday 3 July 2021 at 2:30pm and 7:30pm. The Bonus Arena have confirmed that this will likely likely make them the first shows to perform at the venue after reopening.
Any original tickets will still be valid for the 2021 shows, but the Bonus Arena, Hull have also announced that two additional dates for the show will now take in May 2022.

Directed by Strictly’s Creative Director of Choreography Jason Gilkison, the show will feature a stunning line-up of pro dancers ready to race back to the dancefloor: Australian Open Champion and 2018 finalist Dianne Buswell; Professional World Mambo Champion and 2021 Strictly finalist Karen Hauer; 2017 Strictly Champion Katya Jones; undefeated four-time British National Champion Neil Jones; 2021 Strictly finalist Gorka Marquez; four-time Italian Dance Championship winner Luba Mushtuk, two-time Strictly Come Dancing South Africa finalist Johannes Radebe and Dancing With The Stars Ireland professional dancer Kai Widdrington.
The pro dancer line-up for the 2022 tour will be announced later this year. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, 16 April. These shows are new events and tickets for the 2021 tour do not carry over to the 2022 shows.

Paw Patrol: Race to the Rescue
Saturday 17 July 2021 – 10.30am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm.
PAW Patrol – Race to the Rescue will visit the Bonus Arena for three shows on Saturday, 17 July 2021. This live stage show is based on the Canadian CGI–animated children’s television series, shown on Channel 5 and Nick Jr, and will no doubt be a huge hit with the little ones.
There will be three shows on 17 July 2021, starting at 10.30am, 1.30pm and 4.30pm. Tickets are available via Ticketmaster.
UK Seniors Snooker 2021
12 – 15 August 2021

Some of snooker’s greatest ever players will return to Hull in 2021 as the UK Seniors Championship will again take place at the Bonus Arena.
Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Ken Doherty and reigning tournament champion Michael Judge will take part in the 16-person event. It is the third year the tournament will have come to Hull, having missed 2020 due to the pandemic.

Simple Minds

Simple Minds will visit the Bonus Arena, Hull as part of their 40th anniversary tour. Expect the band to perform all the hits such as Don’t You (Forget About Me), Alive & Kicking, Belfast Child, Big Music and Someone Somewhere.
Simple Minds marked their 40th anniversary celebrations with the release of the career-spanning compilation ‘40: The Best Of – 1979-2019’ out now via UMC. Collating their early fan favourites with their era-defining hits and their essential recent material, the collection also includes a gloriously euphoric new track – a cover of King Creosote’s celebration of weekend revelry ‘For One Night Only’.
