With just 2 weeks to go, local mental health charity Hull and East Yorkshire Mind is preparing for the return of the much-loved Mental Elf family 5K festive fun run, now even bigger and better for 2023.
Prepare for a joyous and family-friendly 5k event where you can walk or run at your own pace. Mental Elf is inclusive, welcoming participants of all abilities and ages.
Save the date for the morning of Sunday, December 3rd, and join us for an array of festive stalls and activities. This event not only lifts spirits but also aims to raise essential funds for the local charity.
Marie-Louise Robinson, Community Fundraiser (and chief elf) at Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, shares her excitement:
“Mental Elf promises to be a fantastic festive experience, catering to all ages and abilities—whether you’re a runner, walker, part of a family, team, or pushing a wheelchair or stroller.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together with loved ones, boost your sense of wellbeing, and, of course, get into the Christmas spirit.”
While elf costumes are encouraged, they’re not mandatory, but we hope to see many participants in festive attire. It’s the ideal way to embrace the holiday season while supporting those struggling with their mental health in the local community.
Anthony Snow, (sponsorship elf) and Business Relationship Lead at the charity, is delighted to announce Hull Fibre as the principal sponsor for the event:
“We are thrilled to partner with Hull Fibre for this event, fostering a long-term collaboration for improved mental health in Hull and East Yorkshire.”
“This will be a fantastic running/walking experience with a genuine boost to wellbeing. Our volunteer elves will be scattered along the route, cheering everyone on. Most importantly, you’ll experience that heartwarming feeling that comes from supporting your local mental health charity.”
