Five days of Beverley at Christmas festive activities have now been confirmed as the ever-popular Festival of Christmas returns to the town.

The festival, proudly supported by The Beverley Arms, is now in its 26th year and will be held in Saturday Market on Sunday, 11 December between 10am – 4pm.

The festival attracts thousands of visitors to the East Riding from all corners of the UK to experience fine Christmas food, drink and arts and crafts.

Each year, on the second Sunday in December, the centre of Beverley is transformed into a magical Christmas shopper’s wonderland, as over 110 stalls brimming with gorgeous Christmas gifts and local treats take over the historic market town.

The festival will also be running in North Bar, Wednesday Market and Flemingate.

This follows the returning Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market which runs between Wednesday, 7 and Friday, 9 December. The traditional Saturday Market offering will also be running on 10 December with a Christmas theme.

The Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will celebrate the very best produce that East Yorkshire’s local businesses have to offer. In its 2nd year, this event will have additional themed entertainment each day and a festive feel throughout the event.

The three days of the market will take place within the Saturday Market area in Beverley, opening at 10am and finishing at 6pm each evening with an array of festive entertainment and activities planned throughout.

Further details regarding planned entertainment offerings, travel information, park and ride and road closures will be made available closer to Beverley at Christmas.

Councillor Jane Evison, portfolio holder for economic development and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The Beverley Festival of Christmas is one of the flagship events for our region and is an important date in the calendar for our high street businesses.

“Year-on-year, it is a hugely popular event, with visitors from all over the UK coming to enjoy over 100 festive stalls and entertainment. I’m sure this will prove to be a popular event again and we look forward to welcoming residents and visitors to the East Riding as we all get into the festive spirit in preparation for Christmas.

“It is also terrific that the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market will be returning to Beverley for a second year. The market is a fantastic addition to a truly joyful time of the year.”

Nikki Dixon, marketing director at Daniel Thwaites PLC, added: “It continues to be an honour for The Beverley Arms to be so heavily involved with and a key supporter of the Festival of Christmas.

“We’re incredibly thankful to the local community who support our business, and this year we’re excited to tell visitors, both local and those from further afield, more about our company, Daniel Thwaites of which The Beverley Arms is a key part of.”
