Cineworld, the UK’s leading cinema chain, has fully unveiled their new look to cinema goers on Monday, December 13. Following the launch in September of the immersive new auditoriums Superscreen, 4DX and ScreenX.
The state-of-the-art refurbishment which began on 21st June has now been complete and includes an impressive upgrade to the standard screens with new seats, premium seating, and state-of-the-art updates to the foyer and concessions stands where customers can purchase a selection of their favourite movie snacks. This means that Cineworld Hull’s guests will be able to enhance their cinema experience like never before.
The completion comes just in time for guests to watch the hugely anticipated Spider-Man: No Way Home on the big-screen, which will also be showing in Superscreen, 4DX and ScreenX. The film is showing on screens now and has already broken box-office opening day records. Not sure which format to choose, maybe this will help you decide:
Superscreen allows customers to see the latest blockbusters on a breathtaking wall-to-wall and ceiling-high screen which is taller than a double decker bus (17m x 7.5m). The auditorium seats 395 + 4 wheelchair spaces with laser 4K projection giving a brighter 3D experience and stunning multidimensional Dolby Atmos sound. The Superscreen at Cineworld Hull will be Cineworld’s 18th in the UK.
Only at Cineworld in the UK, 4DX offers customers the opportunity to experience the latest movies from high-tech motion seats, engineered to work in perfect synchronicity with the action on screen. Movie fans are surrounded by special effects such as wind, fog, lightning, snow, bubbles, water and scents.
Available in both 2D and 3D formats, 4DX is one of the biggest innovations in cinematic technology. The new 4DX auditorium houses 140 + 2 wheelchair spaces, plus an impressive curved screen. 4DX at Cineworld Hull will be Cineworld’s 33rd 4DX screen in the UK.
Cineworld Hull is also home to the multi-projection cinema technology, ScreenX, expanding the traditional cinema screen to the side auditorium walls, creating a 270-degree viewing experience for the audience.
The innovative technology uses an array of projectors and with proprietary ScreenX software, blends multiple images into one seamless image extending from the central screen out.
Strategically placed audio systems and speakers ensure that sound does not compromise the immersive viewing experience. ScreenX at Cineworld Hull will be Cineworld’s 19th ScreenX screen in the UK.
Standard tickets are still priced at the pre-refurbishment price of £5.99 with exclusions and uplifts payable for the special formats. Cineworld Unlimited Card holders can also enjoy access to an unlimited number of films, for less than the price of two standard tickets, at just £9.99 per month.
The Unlimited Card also allows holders to enjoy advance screenings, 10% off cinema snacks and drinks, a FREE Tastecard with 50% or 2 for 1 offers at local restaurants and much more. Plus, with a limited time trial of a minimum 3-month membership, there is no better time than now to become a member.

What is 4DX
Experience extreme sensory cinema with 4DX, a Cineworld exclusive in the UK.
With stimulating effects like water, wind, scent and lighting that are timed to enhance what’s happening on screen, you’ll be truly thrilled in your seat.
Speaking of your seat – it moves. The high-tech motion programming means it moves in time with the film’s action, and along with vibrations and shaking, you’ll feel like you’re part of the car chase; standing in the eye of the storm or steering the boat right into a tidal wave.
Fun on your own, better with friends – 4DX is Cineworld’s most exhilarating way to watch a film.
Who is 4DX for?
A full sensory experience for older children and adults. 4DX allows you to truly feel part of the experience, great for action and adventure films.
Cineworld Hull General Manager John Jackson said of 4DX at Hull: “We’re thrilled to introduce cinema goers to our new 4DX auditorium.
“There’s nothing like it and it can only be experienced at Cineworld, in the UK. We opened with a fantastic line-up of movies perfect for 4DX with even more on the way.
“We can’t wait to see customers’ reactions when they try out the extreme, multi-sensory cinema experience!”
