A new and exciting eatery is preparing to move into the former Thorntons chocolate shop located on Whitefriargate in Hull city centre this Spring. The unit has been vacant for nearly two years since the departure of Thorntons in 2021. Crepes And Bubbles, a new eatery specializing in bubble tea, will be opening its doors for business from May onwards. The menu for the café is set to launch online on May 1.
The announcement coincides with the news of Ogino, a Japanese restaurant in Beverley, closing down. Ogino has advised its guests that any gift vouchers can be redeemed at the new Crepes And Bubbles café. According to a statement from Ogino, Crepes And Bubbles is a fantastic crepe and bubble tea shop that will be opening its doors in May at the old Thorntons shop on Whitefriargate near Princes Quay.
Although details about the new eatery have not been released, more information is expected to be revealed soon. The café will rejuvenate Whitefriargate, a once-bustling shopping street, as store units along the street have gradually emptied over the last few years. Many people were disappointed when Thorntons left the corner unit, and they have been waiting for a new business to occupy the space.
