Ennerdale Bridge to undergo essential maintenance work this month

Hull City Council has announced that essential maintenance work on Ennerdale Bridge will commence later this month.

The maintenance work will be carried out by the Hull City Council Bridges Team and will include repairs to the non-slip/waterproofing on the decks of the bridge in Raich Carter Way.

The work, which will be operated under contraflow traffic management, will commence on Sunday 22 October from 7pm and is planned to be completed by 8am on Saturday 4 November.

Weather permitting, the intention of the Bridges Team is to carry out the work in two phases, with the traffic management removed over the weekend, to avoid unnecessary disruption.

The footways will be unaffected by the works.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, Portfolio Holder for Transportation, Roads and Highways, said: “These are essential maintenance works which will help us keep the bridge safe for road users.

“To carry the work out safely, traffic management will be in place. However, I welcome that this will be removed at the weekend, if possible, to avoid disruption.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank all road users in advance for their patience and understanding during these works.”
