Following our triumphant return in September, we’re pleased to announce our next show.
We are back again at the newly refurbished Back Room in Cottingham, with yet another fantastic headliner in Paul Pirie.
A brilliant natural comedian, Paul comes packed full of energy and uses every ounce to maximum effect, with superb delivery.

Paul’s career has encompassed TV, Film and Radio alongside his skills as a stand-up, and he is now one of the biggest Scottish acts on the UK comedy circuit.
He’s a confident and intelligent comedian who makes it his mission to work and entertain his audience. Paul’s material is superbly individual and put simply, and always delivers a refreshing burst of laugh out loud comedy that leaves audiences in raptures.

Paul’s physical, theatrical presence on stage and his sharp, rapid-fire comedy onslaught is packed with highly entertaining material, which blurs the lines between real-life anecdotes and flight of fancy. Its been observed that he channels the late Robin Williams at his most excitable; Pirie’s act is absolutely hilarious.

Running since 2016, Cottingham Comedy Club, the village’s best* comedy venue, provides an unique comedy experience in many ways. This intimate club gets you up close and personal with the acts, many of whom are breaking through into TV, or are established acts from the UK and international comedy circuit. We are a welcoming venue and we have a dedicated room for the comedy, with regular breaks between the acts for you to lubricate your throats with laughter juice. With four acts and a compere it’s great value for money at less than £2 per comedian. We think it’s the most fun you can have with friends on a midweek night out.
We aim to run this as a regular night again, on the second Thursday of every month, as we were pre-pandemic (except occasionally when we can’t be arsed).
