The Opera North Youth Orchestra will soon perform Verdi, Walton and Sibelius at the University of Hull. The concert on Sunday, 11 December, at Middleton Hall will be a performance delivered with an energy exclusive to young adults exploring their potential. Opera North are thrilled to welcome Byron Parish from the Orchestra of Opera North as the Walton Violin Concerto soloist.
Emma Barnett, Youth Orchestral Manager, Opera North, said: ‘We are excited to bring the first concert of the 2022-2023 season to Middleton Hall at the University of Hull with a programme demonstrating the sophisticated ensemble skills this orchestra was established to develop. From the rambunctious overture of Verdi’s Force’ of Destiny, the challenge of balancing Waltons notoriously difficult Violin Concerto between soloist and orchestra, to Sibelius’; glorious and melodic second symphony, this programme demands great and exciting orchestral playing.’
Tickets are £9, £5 and free for University of Hull students.
