The Big Jubilee Jamboree

About The Big Jubilee Jamboree

Goodwin are celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee in royal fashion to bring the community together and have some fun, courtesy of Her Majesty! On the 11th June, The Big Jubilee Jamboree will transform the car park at The Octagon into an all-day festival that is completely free to attend.

The festivities start at 1pm with a choir performance by the children at Adelaide Primary School and from then, until close at 8pm, there will be entertainment for the whole family. There will be arts and crafts workshops, face painting, theatre performances, live music and free food (subject to availability).

The Big Jubilee Jamboree is being organised by staff and participants signed up to employability projects at Goodwin. Staff involved in the event support people of all ages that are unemployed into employment or further training by offering advice, guidance and opportunities.

Thom Sheppard, Springboard Team Leader at Goodwin, said, “By giving the young people we work with the opportunity to organise big projects like this, we help them to develop the experience, skills and confidence to move on into work or education.”

“Everyone has worked hard to make sure this is a great day for the whole family and it’s free so anyone can attend.”

The Big Jubilee Jamboree is taking place on 11th June between 1pm and 8pm at The Octagon, Walker Street, Hull, HU3 2RA.
