Come and catch a rare sighting of The Dyr Sister as she wanders into town to sing her songs in magical surroundings.
As the darkness of winter approaches, she invites you into her strange and surreal universe. Not only will you encounter a devastatingly beautiful explosion of sound you will be able to feast your eyes on the work of artists Bluebeany & GrimVisions, who will be bringing The Dyr Sister’s modern day fairy tales to life using set design and digital projection mapping. A performance blending elements of music, art and theatre will mean that this immersive experience promises to be unmissable!
This performance is suitable for adults and children alike and takes place at 66-68 Humber Street. Adult tickets £7 inc BF. Under 16’s Go FREE!
This is an alternative approach to the gig experience with performances lasting around 45 minutes. Capacity is reduced to enable social distancing. Your ticket entitles you to a drink.

The Dyr Sister is headed up by Sally Currie, a multi-instrumentalist who was born partially deaf.
She has been performing as The Dyr Sister solo since 2013, incanting her dark modern-day fairy tales under the banner ‘fairy tales for the modern gentleman’. She formed a band in late 2019 and was also awarded an emergent commission with Drake Music. She collaborated with Bluebeany to write a song and set it to moving image. In 2021 Sally was successfully accepted onto Sound and Music’s Composer Curator programme.
Bluebeany (aka Anna Bean) is a visual artist working across many disciplines. She creates artwork imagining surreal worlds filled with curious anthropomorphic characters. She also collaborates with performers to transform these 2D created worlds into 3D immersive theatrical experiences allowing the audience to walk in and become part of these imaginary spaces.
She is inspired and influenced by cinema, theatre, television programmes and old masters. She will be collaborating with GrimVisions (Ed Grimoldby) who is an award-winning artist specialising in digital theatre creating work in England & internationally. His work explores movement & digital technology.
Accessibility Information
Monday afternoon performances will be relaxed and we will have a friendly attitude to noise and movement in the auditorium.
Seating is unallocated but we can provide an accessible seated viewing location on request.
The space is wheelchair accessible and has a disabled toilet.
