As she grapples with the idea of having no dignity in denying her own identity, spoken word artist and film-maker Emily Oetegenn explores the multi-dimensional fragments of herself, from fledgling contemplation to phoenix fruition.
The evening will see her share her signature spoken word, her original short film Reprise and new film commission Alternative Stratosphere, exploring queer love, disability and sensuality filmed by Fly Girl Films at Hull New Theatre.
Following this, there will be a short Q&A session on her process of writing, hopes for the future and Walt Disney Studios inspiration.
Alumnus of Absolutely Cultured’s INTER_CHANGE cohort 2021 – 2022 and creator of Tales and Scales Productions , Emily Oetegenn is a local LGBTQ+, disabled, neurodivergent writer, director and creative producer who uses her work to unpick identity, womanhood, rage and the Aphrodite gaze.
