Following the success of its first two courses, Thunk-It Theatre, in partnership with Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC), have announced a third term of youth theatre workshops.

The sessions, which will take place online via Zoom, will focus on using objects from the home to create characters and explore puppetry skills.

The all-levels drama sessions for Years 2-6 (ages 6-11) will be taking place 10-11am every Sunday during term time on zoom from Sunday 20 June to Sunday 18 July.

PAC director, Janet Farmer, said: “We joined forces with local company Thunk-It Theatre earlier this year to bring engaging and interactive drama classes to children as a way of helping them to socialise with others of similar ages, and discover the wonderment of live performance.

“We are delighted that these fun and creative classes will continue for a third term which this time promises something a little different in the form of puppetry.

“With thanks to the Friends of PAC for their financial support to help make this possible.”

The sessions include fun games and exercises that encourage confidence building, life and social skills, as well as creating a positive environment for the young people to express themselves.

Paige Sidebottom, aged 8, who has been taking part in the sessions said: “I’ve really enjoyed doing the classes. I’m excited for them every week because they are lots of fun, they make me laugh, I get to make new friends and learn new things.”

Becky Lennon and Jules Risingham from Thunk-It Theatre added: “We’ve had so much fun bringing our online drama classes to youngsters so far this year and we cannot wait to get started with our third term which will be the perfect way for youngsters to discover all the fun of puppetry and express themselves creatively.

“We can’t wait to see what our students produce throughout the course of the term.”

Places for the five-week term cost £30 per child. Find out more and book your place at www.pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
