East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s countryside access team are planning a weekend of events this September about autumn bats and a geocaching treasure hunt.
The first, Autumn Bat Boxes at Millington Wood, takes place on Saturday, 17 September at Millington Wood Nature Reserve (YO42 1TZ). This is a unique opportunity to join in the autumn monitoring of the bat boxes with the East Yorkshire Bat Group and the countryside access team.
Participants can enjoy a stroll around the wood and take a closer look at the bats roosting in the boxes. Fully licensed bat workers will temporarily hold a bat in their hands, giving participants a chance to view from a couple of metres away (closer views are available if participants are happy to wear a mask).
The event runs from 10am-12.30pm with adult tickets at £3.50 per person, over 60s £2.50 and a family ticket (two adults and up to three children) £9.

- 10-11am
