There will be further opportunities for visitors to explore the historic whiting mill on Hessle foreshore, with two special open days on Friday, 19 August (10.00am-4.00pm) and Sunday, 18 September (10.00am-3.00pm).

The building was recently refurbished as part of a Lottery funded project and is full of interesting features, and information panels about the history of the site.

A trail around the mill helps visitors to learn more about the site and there is also a film about some historical characters associated with the mill.

In addition, children’s craft activities will be taking place, around or inside the mill depending on the weather: Wild Woodland Art on Friday, 19 August and a Geocaching Treasure Hunt on Sunday, 18 September.
