Hull residents aged 19 and over can now gain in-demand digital qualifications for free, thanks to the Adult Skills Fund — a government initiative designed to help adults retrain, upskill, and access new career opportunities.
Two new fully funded Level 3 online courses in Data and Cyber Security are now open for enrolment, delivered by Future Connect Training & Recruitment in partnership with Hull City Council.
These courses are designed for local adults who want to build job-ready skills in one of the UK’s fastest-growing industries.
The training is flexible, accessible, and completely free for eligible Hull residents — helping people gain recognised qualifications that can lead directly to employment or further study.
Level 3 Data Technician Course
The Data Technician course equips learners with practical skills to manage and interpret information effectively. Participants will get hands-on with real-world tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, and Python, learning how to collect, clean, and visualise data to support better business decision-making.
This course is ideal for anyone who enjoys working with numbers, details, and technology. It provides a foundation for roles such as Data Technician, Business Analyst, Reporting Officer, or Marketing Data Assistant, and also opens the door to further study in data analytics or digital transformation.
Level 3 Cyber Security Course
The Cyber Security course focuses on one of today’s most critical career areas — protecting digital systems and information from online threats. Learners will explore how to identify security risks, prevent attacks, and implement safe digital practices in business environments.
It’s a great starting point for anyone looking to move into the cyber or IT field, preparing participants for roles such as Cyber Security Technician, IT Support Specialist, or Network Security Assistant. With businesses of all sizes now prioritising data protection, this qualification is both relevant and in high demand.
