Hull Training and Adult Education (HTAE) is urging residents to boost their careers and unlock their potential this festive season with upcoming Skills Bootcamps.
The team will be hosting something magical at The Freedom Centre on Preston Road next weekend and guests are asked to get on their skates for a free outdoor ice rink and a visit from Santa and Mrs Christmas, as well as themed workshops and crafts.
There will also be an indoor market and The Freedom Centre Panto over the weekend, whilst visitors can also discover how Skills Bootcamps can advance their careers in sectors such as construction and digital skills.
The fun workshops begin on Friday 6 December from 10am, with activities including creating Christmas Eve story boxes, decorating Christmas tree ornaments and making wreaths.
Saturday 7 December features painting festive windows, whilst visitors can also create Polar Express tickets.
The ice rink will open at 10am and boots can be hired for free on a first come, first served basis. The rink will close briefly at 12pm with an official opening at 12:30pm.
Place are limited and can be booked by calling 01482 616 580.
The festive fun isn’t limited to east Hull, with The Avenues Adult Education Centre on Park Avenue hosting a Christmas Fayre, also on Saturday 7 December.
From 9:30am, there will be fun for all the family, including Christmas story reading, craft stalls, a tombola, clay reindeer making, creating a Christingle, felting and even the chance to hear Spanish Christmas songs.
Adult workshops will feature raku, sewing festive items and gifts, card embroidering and more.

Cllr Linda Tock, portfolio holder for Hull Training, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for potential learners to sample what HTAE is all about, whilst also enjoying some festive fun.
“Hosting events such as these are a great way to encourage people to get involved, whilst also offering them the chance to do something they never have before, such as outdoor ice skating.”
