Get back into fitness with free wellbeing sessions from Hull FC and Hull KR

Hull FC and Hull KR have teamed up with the local NHS to run free wellbeing sessions for men and women looking to get back into fitness.

Perfect for anyone who has taken their eye off the ball with their health and fitness, Match Fit, Unite Fitness and Food for Thought offer a varied programme of fitness activities under the guidance of qualified personal trainers and coaches.

And if rugby is your thing, you might be excited by the close link to the club’s first team, who have shown their support for the sessions, occasionally dropping in to get involved and offering opportunities to win tickets to matches.

Match Fit

Match Fit is a weekly programme for men aged over 35 in Hull. This 60-minute activity session runs on Monday evenings from 6-7pm at Bonus Youth Performance Centre.

The sessions feature a variety of fitness activities including circuits and weight training, as well as sports such as rugby, football, and badminton. The activity for the week is determined by the participants and can be adapted to all fitness levels.

Unite Fitness  

Unite Fitness is a weekly programme aimed at women in Hull looking to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. It is held every Tuesday evening from 6-7:30pm at the Bonus Youth Performance Centre and includes the offer of free childcare for children aged 2+. 

The sessions are varied and offer women the opportunity to try their hand at different fitness activities in a supportive environment. Activities include yoga, circuits, netball, clubbercise and more. 

As part of the programme, women also get the opportunity to learn more about other areas of healthy lifestyles from experts such as dietitians and mental health workers.

Food for Thought

Food for thought is a twice weekly fitness programme aimed at men and women over 16 in Hull. Classes take place every Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-7pm at Sewell Group Craven Park.

These sessions incorporate a range of fitness activities delivered by qualified coaches and can be tailored to all fitness levels.

These sessions form part of the Teaming up for Health partnership between NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group, Hull FC Foundation and Hull KR Foundation.
