Hull City Council has today (August 11) launched its biggest transport survey to date, giving everyone in the city the opportunity to have their say on Hull’s roads.

The city’s road network has undergone significant changes over recent years, and the council is keen to hear what impact these changes have had on residents, and give them a voice when it comes to shaping Hull’s roads and transport for the future.

From today, anyone who uses Hull’s roads can complete the survey at the following link: Hull City Council Traffic and Travel Resident Survey.

Every household in the city will also receive one paper survey through the door from Monday (August 15), to make sure everyone has the chance to have their say.

Questions in the survey include:

  • Are our roads getting more or less congested?
  • How do you feel about public transport in the city?
  • Have the new cycle lanes encouraged you to cycle more?
  • How well were you consulted about significant changes?
  • What has the council done right, and what needs to be better in future?

Councillor Mike Ross, Leader of Hull City Council, said: “We are determined to be a listening council that puts people’s views and needs at the heart of everything we do. This survey is another important step towards doing that.

“From speaking to residents, we know that congestion on our roads is a huge issue affecting everyone, which is why we want to hear everyone’s views.

“The feedback we receive will help us put the people’s priorities first as we build a transport network that works for all who use it.

“We’re making it easy for everyone to have their say by completing the survey online or looking out for the survey that will be landing on their doormats from next week.

“I urge everyone to take this opportunity to shape the future of Hull’s roads.”

To make the survey more accessible to all, the council will also be holding a number of engagement events where people can get help completing the survey and ask any questions they may have.

The first engagement events are being held next week. The full list of events is below…
