The hugely popular annual Healthy Holidays event, which sees thousands of young people getting involved, is now underway in Hull.

There’s lots to do during the long summer break to keep pre-school to teenagers entertained across all areas of the city including sport, dance, performance, fun days, crafts, and more.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 4 August), 11am – 3pm, National Play Day, funded by Healthy Holidays will return to Queens Gardens, where children and young people can have a fun-filled day of games and activities including free craft activities, bike try outs, donkey rides, face painting, street theatre and much more for all the family.

Councillor Shane McMurray, Portfolio Holder for children’s services said: “After the past 18 months, where children have been home schooled and isolated from one another, it’s really important that this summer they get the chance to have fun together and enjoy being kids again.

“Thinking of ideas to keep children entertained in the holidays can be tricky and, at times, costly for parents and carers. This is why we’re putting on lots of fun free or low-cost activities, such as National Play Day, for all ages to get them active and busy, whilst keeping the cost of having fun at a minimum.”

Some of the other activities on offer across the city as part of Healthy Holidays include:
