Hull and East Yorkshire’s Super Sandwiches

There’s plenty of reasons as to why the sandwich is such a popular and beloved choice of food, it offers affordability, taste, and the opportunity of eating on the go, making it perfect for pretty much any and every occasion. Establishments serving up sandwiches can be found on virtually every street corner in Britain, and thankfully Hull and East Yorkshire is no different in this respect.

The local area is stuffed with delicatessens, cafes and eateries boasting some amazing unmissable sandwiches, and so with this in mind, here is a guide to some of Hull and East Yorkshire’s super sandwiches!

Marla’s Sandwich Shop

53 Princes Ave, Hull HU5 3QY

Marla’s Sandwich Shop manages to crop up on virtually every one of our food based articles, and for good reason! The eatery, now firmly situated on Princes Avenue, has amassed an ever growing group of loyal local customers, gained through friendly staff, a comfortable eating area, and delicious food.

Although Marla’s specialise in all sorts of dishes, including hot and cold breakfasts, it’s their amazing sandwiches for which they are known best! Halloumi Classic, Chicken Romesco, and Tofu Bahn Mi (Vegan), are some of their best known sandwiches, all of which are available for £8.75-a price which is more than justified by the quality of the food and the service with which it is served.

Flour & Feast

10 Humber St, Hull HU1 1TG

One of Humber Street’s most popular places to eat and drink, Flour & Feast is a charming and homely eatery whose good quality food and comfortable seating area makes it an unforgettable place to visit. Like Marla’s, Flour & Feast doesn’t just specialise in one thing. Although it prides itself on serving up artisanal bread, croissants, doughnuts, and of course sandwiches are also available to purchase!

Standout sandwiches include the Reuben, containing: pastrami, house pickled veggies and mustard mayo, as well as a personal favourite of mine, the broccoli banh mi – perfect for those seeking something healthy and delicious. For delicious sandwiches made using only the finest local ingredients, visit Flour & Feast.

Nibble

Nibble @ The Dock, Queen St, Hull HU1 1UU

Less than a minute’s walk away from Flour & Feast is Nibble, another one of Humber Street’s popular and impressive eateries. Though formally known as a brunch restaurant, Nibble is also responsible for serving up some of the local area’s most decadent and delicious sandwiches – often with a twist.

There are plenty of sandwiches to choose from at Nibble currently, including: the meatball sub, the battered fish s’wich, grilled cheese special, and the veggie stack – all of which are made using only the best ingredients from local suppliers.

Nibble’s sandwiches are more expensive than those served at Madison’s, Fletcher’s and Herby’s, but this escalation in price is more than warranted by the taste of the product! Nibble’s sandwiches are perfect for those hankering after something indulgent and tasty after a long week at work.
