The UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), has secured Hull and the Humber as a major exhibitor at next May’s inaugural UKREiiF conference in Leeds.

Made up of Hull City Council, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council, with backing from leading businesses operating within the region including Associated British Ports, Siemens and Wykeland Group, Hull and the Humber’s delegation to UKREiiF will be focused on the opportunities for investors across the Humber.

Councillor Daren Hale, Leader of Hull City Council, said: “Hull is a city on the move. Our brilliant location on the Humber means we are a gateway to much of the UK’s international trade, so attending UKREiiF and presenting our development opportunities to an audience of UK and international investors felt like a no-brainer.

“I am delighted that Hull and the Humber will be exhibiting at UKREiiF, and I know people across the Humber are confident about the benefits further investment in our region will bring.”

Led by property events company Built Environment Networking and supported by some of the biggest UK property and infrastructure companies, the first annual UKREiiF event will be held in Leeds on May 17 to 19 next year. The forum will attract inward investment, generate economic growth and drive a more sustainable and inclusive culture within the property and construction industries.

Amanda Griffiths, Director of event organisers Built Environment Networking, said: “There is now real momentum growing behind UKREiiF. Having Hull and the Humber sign-up to exhibit at next May’s inaugural UKREiiF conference is a massive vote of confidence in UKREiiF, and I am thrilled that the smorgasbord of opportunities which exist across the region will be on show to the range of UK and international investors who will be attending UKREiiF.”

Rob Bullen, Head of Real Estate UK and Ireland at Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, said: “The Humber is an area at the forefront of the renewable energy industry in the UK and a strategic location for Siemens Gamesa. With the hundreds of skilled jobs already created across the region and an ongoing focus on the continued growth of and investment in the sector, UKREiiF comes at the perfect time to showcase the region and build upon the investments we have already made.”

Dominic Gibbons, Managing Director of Wykeland, said: “As a Hull-based business which has invested tens of millions of pounds across the region, with developments such as Melton West and Bridgehead in East Yorkshire and the regeneration of the Fruit Market in Hull, we’re pleased to play our part in promoting the area at UKREiiF. As the economy recovers strongly from the pandemic there could not be a better time to showcase all that Hull and the Humber has to offer to an audience of UK and international investors.”

Further announcements about UKREiiF are due in the coming weeks. Find out more at www.ukreiif.com
