An IT support business has reinforced its status as a cyber security specialist by making protection the priority with a move to a new home.

The relocation by Jupiter IT to a site at Priory Park in Hull enables the company to more than double its capacity to host cyber security training.

Overall the purchase of the two-storey Jupiter House in Henry Boot Way provides a four-fold increase on the space at its previous premises next to the A63 in Hessle.

Dan Gladstone, Managing Partner at Jupiter IT, said: “Cyber security was a big factor behind our move to Hessle in 2018. We gave ourselves the space to bring in clients and the business community generally to raise awareness of the issue.

“Now the need is even greater – cyber-crime accounts for more than half of all crime and after finding this site we can set up dedicated cyber security training areas, The biggest businesses have their security in order but that can heighten the risk to smaller companies, who could be seen as easy pickings. We are passionate about keeping them safe.”

Dan and his fellow Managing Partner Iain Powell were co-founders of the company 15 years ago and are continuing a policy of gradual expansion. After building a team of 10 when they moved to Hessle from their original premises in Chanterlands Avenue, Hull, they now have 15.

The company works and recruits across the Yorkshire region and over the Humber Bridge into Northern Lincolnshire. Clients include Hull City football club and a growing number of legal and financial concerns who demand the highest standards of security.

As a major partner of the Ron Dearing UTC, Jupiter IT supports and maintains the organisation’s systems and also invests in preparing students for future roles in highly skilled and influential jobs.

Dan said: “We contribute to the student learning experience and we deliver workshops on cyber security so they understand the importance of it when they leave and head into the world of work.”

The acquisition of Jupiter House demonstrates the company’s commitment and confidence, and Dan expects to announce further expansion over the next 12 months.

He said: “The key to our success so far has been great customer retention and that’s because we work very hard on it. That’s testament to the guys in the team and to our culture of wanting to be the best at what we do and being rewarded with a lot of customer referrals.

“We are completely different business from when we started and our plan is to keep growing and continue to deliver a great service.”
