Hull City Council’s Employment Hub has smashed its targets ahead of the year end.

The team at the Employment Hub have yet again exceeded their targets set out in their contact by the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP). The targets include supporting people into work, training or volunteering opportunities.

Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, the portfolio holder for Regeneration at Hull City Council: “The Employment Hub provides a vital service to the city and its success is reflected in its latest figures. The hub has helped remedy levels of unemployment in Hull and has opened up many residents to new opportunities, improving their prospects in life. A huge well done to the staff for all that they have achieved. I would encourage anybody struggling with unemployment to reach out to them.”

The team recently held a Christmas employment event, which showcased festive jobs across many sectors, with Employment Advisors on hand to help with CVs and applications forms. Their next one is taking place on Wednesday 9 November from 10.00am – 3.00pm at their headquarters in Hull Central Library.
