Leading ladies of musical theatre and a rather large orchestra will combine anthemic music from stage and screen in two amazing concerts at Hull City Hall next year.
Just after Valentines’ Day, lovers of movie soundtracks can indulge their passion when the internationally renowned BBC Big Band and stunning vocalist Emer McParland celebrate The Sound of Cinema on 17 February, 2022.
Film buffs of all eras will rejoice in the music and theme tunes of their favourite blockbuster hits such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Meet Me in St. Louis and James Bond, as well as contemporary classics such as John Williams’ Catch Me If You Can.
Emer and the orchestra will also shine a light on some of the leading ladies of classic film scores, including Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey and Marilyn Munroe, all performed in the BBC Big Band’s own inimitable style.
Just two weeks later as spring awakens and blossom is in the air, not one, but two of the most revered leading ladies of the West End, Kerry Ellis and Louise Dearman, deliver the perfect arrangement for their Stars of the West End show on 10 March 2022.
Kerry and Louise are no stranger to the stage, sharing a wealth of credits in an abundance of hit shows including Oliver, Les Misérables, We Will Rock You, My Fair Lady, Cats, Wicked, Evita and Guys and Dolls. Their musical extravaganza will be accompanied by the International Film Orchestra and also feature classics from Chess, James Bond, and The Greatest Showman.
