Two colossal comedians and three giants of pop music are heading to Hull City Hall in the New Year and beyond.
Stand-up star, TV presenter and Hollywood actor Russell Brand is set to laugh in the face of lockdown when his new show hits the stage on 22 May, 2022.
Starting at 6pm, Russell Brand: 33, will explore the ‘strangeness’ of the last 18 months. During the show Russell will ask the all-important questions: ‘what have we learned and not learned? And how do you ‘get back to normal’ if you’ve never been normal?
Later in the year the venue takes a step further back in time to a decade of fun, flamboyancy and first-class pop music with the Essential 80s: Featuring Paul Young.
The concert on 15 October, 2022 will feature his greatest hits including Wherever I Lay My Hat, which hit the number 1 slot in 1983, Love of The Common People, Everytime You Go Away and Everything Must Change.
He will be joined by fellow 80’s icons T’ Pau – whose hits include China in Your Hands and the uniquely arranged Heart and Soul – and Scottish duo Hue & Cry who received huge acclaim for their singles Ordinary Angel, Violently and Looking for Linda.
Success of a different kind beckons as the venue heads into the future with another star of stand –up on 17 March 2023.
Sara Pascoe: Success Story will deliver brilliant comedy as her new show explores her desire to be famous, auditioning for Barrymore, scaring Pete Burns and ruining Hugh Grant’s birthday.
