As businesses across the region consider new ways to grow and expand their workforces, the Hull & East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership (HEY LEP) is inviting local businesses to an educational event on apprenticeships, traineeships, and internships. Set to be held during Humber Business Week, the “A to Z Guide” event aims to provide owners, leaders and managers of small businesses with all the information they need to tap into the potential benefits of apprenticeship programs.

The event, which will take place from 8-11am on Thursday 8 June at Aura Innovation Centre on Meadow Road in Hessle, is ideal for those considering recruiting an apprentice, trainee, T-Level placement or intern. This includes businesses that have not previously used their apprenticeship levy for workforce skills development.

Chris Howell, employment and skills manager at HEY LEP, said, “This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to discover ways in which they can find the right people for their firm. Every piece of information they could possibly need will be available on the day and we look forward to welcoming them next month for this hugely insightful event.”

The comprehensive guide, developed in conjunction with the HEY LEP Growth Hub, will help to debunk some of the misconceptions about the apprenticeship levy. It will also illustrate how apprentices, trainees, and interns can bring value to a firm, boosting growth, and fostering innovation.

An impressive lineup of speakers from various sectors, ranging from training providers to business support, will be present at the event. Additionally, they will shed light on other forms of employability support such as degree apprenticeships and T-Level placements.

Part of HEY LEP’s partnership with Humber Business Week, which runs from 5-9 June, the breakfast event is a critical step in helping businesses understand the myriad ways in which apprenticeships, traineeships, and internships can contribute to their success.

Businesses from all sectors are invited to attend the event to learn about these innovative employment strategies and how they can leverage them for growth. With this initiative, HEY LEP continues to show its commitment to supporting local businesses and fostering economic growth in the Hull and East Yorkshire region.
