Tragedy, drama, and the incredible story of stripping steel workers take centre stage at Hull Theatres as two world-class operas and an amateur sensation return.

The splendour of Egypt is set against the grandeur of the Coliseum of Rome on 7 February 2023 as Verdi’s Aida from the award-winning producer Ellen Kent returns to Hull City Hall.

This epic production of war, jealousy, and revenge features Verdi’s spectacular soundtrack including the well-known arias Celeste Aida, Ritorna Vincitor and the classic Triumphal March featuring a temple dance, cascades of glittering gold, and amazing fire performers.

Just a week ahead of Valentine’s Day sees one of the most romantic operas ever written take to the stage at Hull City Hall in La Bohème on 8 February 2023.

This brand-new production tells the tragic tale of the doomed, consumptive Mimi and her love for a penniless writer. Featuring Puccini’s prodigious Your Tiny Hand is Frozen, They Call Me Mimi and Muzetta’s Waltz

Stripping off the tragedy comes this amateur production of The Full Monty from One Off Productions at Hull New Theatre on 15-19 November 2022.

Based on the American version of the hit 1997 British film, the story follows six unemployed steelworkers from Buffalo, low on both cash and prospects, decide to get their kit off! As they prepare for the show, they overcome their inner demons and find strength in their camaraderie.

Tickets are on sale now via the Hull City Hall Box Office on 01482 300 306 or at www.hulltheatres.co.uk.
