Hull Theatres are revved up and ready to go full throttle into an action-packed new season bursting with record breaking musicals, side splitting comedy and award-winning musicians. It is the ‘highway’ to the best entertainment this autumn!

Delivering Paradise By The Dashboard Light at Hull New Theatre will be the rock spectacular Bat Out Of Hell (12 -24 September) featuring the legendary anthems of Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf such as I’d Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That), Dead Ringer For Love and Bat Out Of Hell.

On the subject of spectacular events, Hull New Theatre and Freedom Festival Arts Trust have once again teamed up to co-present Gravity and Other Myths’ Backbone, a breath-taking circus-dance experience (26 and 27 August).

The venue will also host debut tours for The Osmonds (18-22 October), Bugsy Malone – The Musical (25-29 October), and Rambert Dance in Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby (31 January – 4 February).

Hull New Theatre remains dedicated to dance with performances from Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (11- 12 October) and a series of ballets by Varna International (17 -21 January).

The new season also boasts great family favourites at Hull New Theatre like Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever (15-16 October) Demon Dentist (9-12 November) Northern Ballet: The Nutcracker (30 November-3 December), and of course the ever-popular pantomime, which this year sees the return of the resident loveable rogue Neil Hurst in Jack And The Beanstalk (10 – 31 December), while Hull City Hall will show a special screening of The Snowman, accompanied by a live orchestra, (11 December).

And over at Hull City Hall the comedy comes thick and fast with Glenn Moore (22 September), Jack Dee (19 October), Jongleurs Legends (28 October) and Dave Gorman (3 November) plus the monthly Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club showcase of new comedians providing giggles galore.

If comedy isn’t your thing there’s a magnificent programme of live music at the venue, which will see Kerry Ellis and Louise Dearman present Stars Of The West End (12 October), and heavy metal giants Saxon (22 November) take to the stage. The Hull City Hall Classics series returns with performances from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (29 September) and the Hull Philharmonic Orchestra (26 November) and East 17 (22 December).

Janice Wincott, Theatres and Halls Manager for Hull Culture and Leisure (HCAL), said: “We are delighted to announce our new season, and as ever, our programme is packed full of world-class productions.

“This autumn has something for everyone and we are very much looking forward to welcoming our valued audiences to our venues for an incredible series of events.”
