Hull Women’s Aid are taking part in the Women and Girls Match Fund 2022 to raise £25,000 in just 1 week! These funds will be used for supporting teenage girls experiencing domestic abuse.
Between April 2020 and March 2021, 74% of young people referred to our service were considered high risk, and 31% of teenage girls were at risk of becoming victims. We are requesting donations to start a programme dedicated to raising awareness of domestic abuse and providing specialised support.
Donations to Hull Women’s Aid will be generously matched by DCMS’ Tampon Tax Fund during the campaign meaning your money can support twice as many teenagers.
Michelle Donnelly, Chief Executive of Hull Women’s Aid : “During the week of 8th March, which is also International Women’s Day, we are looking to raise up to £25,000. In order for the charity to provide a specialist worker who will support young girls experiencing domestic abuse.
“We know by statistics that this is prevalent issue in Hull, therefore having the opportunity to have the specialist provision is vital. We hope everyone will give generously to help us reach our target and enable us to carry on the work we all feel so passionately about.“
