Leads Road to undergo essential repairs later this month

Hull City Council has announced that essential works on Leads Road will commence later this month, to provide much-needed improvement to the road condition.

With the westbound carriageway on Leads Road – from the junction of Wickes car park to Number 83 – in a poor state, essential maintenance work needs to be carried out imminently.

The scheme will involve resurfacing and reconstructing the road. These works will address carriageway failures and ensure a safe and skid-resistant surface for road users to travel on.

Carried out under temporary traffic signals, the work will start on Monday 23 October, and will take approximately two weeks to complete – weather permitting.

Residents will be informed of any disruption affecting them via a letter drop before the works.

Access to businesses will be maintained where possible.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, Portfolio Holder for Transportation, Roads and Highways, said: “Leads Road requires immediate attention as the carriageway is in a poor state. This work will help us keep the road safe for all users.

“We understand that roadworks can be inconvenient, and we thank residents and motorists for their patience and understanding whilst we carry out these works.”

The work will be carried out by Ashcourt Highways Limited on behalf of Hull City Council.
