Leisure facilities across Hull and East Yorkshire will reopen next week, as national Covid-19 restrictions begin to ease.

Hull City Council have confirmed that Ennerdale and Woodford Leisure Centres, Albert Ave Pools and Costello Stadium will all welcome back users for gym, swim and racquets bookings from Monday 12 April.

While East Riding of Yorkshire Council have also confirmed that all of their Leisure Centres including Beverley, Bridlington, Haltemprice, and South Holderness will also open.

Outdoor fitness classes will restart for both Hull & East Riding Leisure Centres and Zoom classes will continue for East Riding. Indoor classes, alongside steam rooms and saunas however, will remain closed. Similarly to previous reopenings, numbers permitted in the gyms and swimming pools will have a reduced capacity to ensure strict social distancing and hygiene guidelines are maintained, and all visits must be pre-booked online via the websites (links below).

Alison Walker, Director of Leisure Services for Hull Culture and Leisure said: “We’re really pleased to be reopening leisure centres and our teams are looking forward to welcoming customers back.

“Encouraging people back to active sports and recreation is a great way to lift spirits, promote health and wellbeing and help us all to fight the effects of lockdown.

“It is still incredibly important that customers follow the latest Government guidance on social distancing and hygiene which can be found at www.gov.uk/coronavirus.”

Booking will be available 48 hours in advance for members and 24 hours in advance for pay as you go customers. Sessions can still be booked at www.hcandl.co.uk/bookonline.

For opening hours, details of facilities available, and how the venues are operating within COVID restrictions, visit the Hull Culture & Leisure and the East Riding Leisure sites.

Both Beverley Road Baths and the Hull Ice Arena remain closed while the refurbishment and maintenance works continue.
