As part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations the brand-new marine patrol and underwater search boat, Galene, will be proudly sailing alongside an estimated 70 other boats from the region.
The flotilla is due to leave the Hull Marina at around 7pm on Thursday 2 June, where they will be sent on their way by a RAF Battle of Britain Spitfire flypast.
In command of Galene is Marine Inspector Al Harvey, “I am extremely proud to be taking part in such a momentous occasion.
“It is a once in a life-time opportunity to be able to take to the water alongside our colleagues at Humber Rescue, Humber Fire and Rescue as well as pleasure boats such as the Yorkshire Belle pleasure Cruiser from Bridlington, a replica of Admiral Lord Nelson’s Royal Navy Schooner HMS Pickle and boats from the MCA, and Trinity House.”
Hessle Town Council and Event Partners Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council have organised the event where the flotilla of vessels will parade from Victoria Pier in Hull to the Humber Bridge in a preamble to the National Lighting of Beacons at Hessle at 9.45pm.
