A new taxi firm WER2 has launched in Hull with plans to lower the costs of taxi journeys and better conditions and pay for drivers.

Located at their newly renovated office on Walton Street, WER2 aims to beat other local taxi firms on price by as much as 50p a mile as well as fulfil the need for more taxis operating in West Hull. WER2 not only have traditional phone operators but also an app much like that of UBER. Their day rates are set to be the most competitive in Hull, night rates as always will be higher but they aim to still beat other local taxi firms.

Owners Steve Barley and Thomas Tozer have more than 15 years combined experience in the business, as well as both, being ex-servicemen. To give back to the local community they have already installed an NHS-registered defibrillator at their Walton Street office and are providing 10% discounts to those with blue light and defence cards.

To encourage more drivers to work with them WER2 has capped drivers weekly running costs at just £100, that’s about £120 less than what many pay now at other firms in the city. On top of the lower running fees, they also have incentives and bonuses such as having a week free of running fees after 3 months of working with the firm and having their licensee renewal paid for by the firm.

WER2 might not always be able to get you a taxi immediately but they will always give you an honest answer when you book with them.

You can book a taxi with WER2 by ringing 01482 770077, visiting their office on Walton Street or via their app.
