A new website has been developed to support young entrepreneurs in Hull.

Future You was developed by the young and aspiring entrepreneurs from Engaging Education, working alongside Hull’s Youth Enterprise Champions.

The Future You website has real-life examples of people who have set up their own businesses in Hull. It also features video content of young entrepreneurs, their tips, as well as interviews with them about their journey.

Visitors can also find information about organisations that offer business support and funding opportunities.

The website came about thanks to financial support from Hull City Council, the Hull and East Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership Growth Hub and the John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank.

Councillor Paul Drake-Davis, portfolio holder for Regeneration: “This new website is designed with enterprising young people in mind. I’m glad the council could lend its support to the development of this important resource that provides a central source of information for young people either running their own business or thinking of starting one up.”

Tony Robinson OBE, Micro Business Author and Micro Business Champion: “Hull’s approach to engaging with and supporting enterprising young people, led by Hull City Council, never ceases to amaze me.

“It is something I firmly believe other local authorities and partnerships who engage with businesses can learn from.

“The Future You campaign in Hull will promote enterprise skills and youth entrepreneurship as it is developed with aspiring and current young entrepreneurs and young people in school.

“They work with partners to produce real transformational change. The downloadable Mental Wellbeing handbook is particularly a great resource for young entrepreneurs.”

Ross Bennett, Founder of Engaging Education: “As young entrepreneurs ourselves, we are proud to be part of Hull’s youth enterprise eco-system.

“We were pleased to work with partners in Hull to produce this new website, dedicated to aspiring and current young entrepreneurs, which can also support students learning about business in schools and colleges.”
