A Feminist’s Guide To Botany: Online Botanical Painting Session

Thu 26 November 2020 6:30pm

Hosted by the London Drawing Group as they explore the history of heroic women artists, this session will explore Botany art! The art of illustrating flowers and other plant species scientifically. Beginning with a short lecture in which you will be able to make rough sketches, students will then be led in some basic watercolour techniques to aid you in creating your own Botanical illustrations.

To make the session even more fun, you can create your art from your own collection of plants. Before the session, collect a variety of plants, flowers, leaves, or dried/pressed flowers, just enough to create an arrangement to work from, or even a classic house plant will do fine!

This is the opportunity to pick up a new skill and create something beautiful! However, if flowers aren’t your thing, the London Drawing Group has plenty of other events taking place this week and in the future, from Drawing Contemporary Dance on Wednesday to Indian Tribal Drawing on Friday!
