Essential overnight resurfacing works will be taking place from Monday November 1 in the latest phase of the multi-million-pound Stoneferry improvement scheme.

The work is expected to last about a week and will be undertaken overnight in order to minimise disruption. The works will be carried out between 7pm and 6am, Monday to Friday.

The carriageway will be closed on Ferry Lane from the River Hull bridge (eastbound) to Ferry Lane roundabout, and on Stoneferry Road (northbound) from Ferry Lane roundabout, past Ann Watson Street, to Bandstand roundabout.

Ferry Lane roundabout will be open to traffic and a signed diversion route will be in place.

The Ship Inn on Anne Watson Street will be open as normal during the works, with a signed vehicle access route from Bandstand roundabout only. This will be managed using two-way traffic lights and the crossing point in the central reserve on Stoneferry Road. There will be no access into Anne Watson Street from Stoneferry Road northbound.

The Esso filling station shop will be open as usual, but the forecourt will be closed to vehicles and no fuel will be available.

All existing pedestrian routes and crossings will remain open.

Councillor Dean Kirk, portfolio holder for transportation, roads and highways said: “With the Stoneferry improvement scheme, we are improving access and use for thousands of residents and businesses in the area.

“These closures will be overnight in order to minimise disruption and ensure this stage of the works can be completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.

“Noise mitigation has been a core consideration in the selection of equipment. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
