Popular free-to-enter Hull Summer Quiz returns for 2022

Following its popularity in 2021, the free-to-enter Hull Summer Quiz has returned for 2022.

The quiz, which is fully digital this year, has 22 questions dotted along a 2-mile route around the city centre. Picking out features around the city that people may not have spotted before, you may need some cryptic thinking to get full marks.

Voyage, a statue on Nelson Street at the point where the River Hull meets the Humber, marks the starting point for the trail. The statue was created to symbolise the bond between Hull and Iceland, created by sea trading and holds the answer to the first question.

The questions themselves are in order, following a route which heads through the Old Town, by Trinity Market, along Alfred Gelder Street, over Murdoch’s Connection and around the Marina.

The quiz has been developed by a local marketing agency, Different Resonance, which prides itself on shouting about how great Hull is as a location to live, learn and work.

“Last year we saw over 500 copies of the quiz downloaded. So, this year’s version is totally digital” explains Matt, Director of Different Resonance.

“I learnt things about the city when I was developing the quiz and we hope those taking part can do the same.” Matt continued. “The route also passes many independent shops, restaurants, bars and cafes around the city so we’re encouraging people to support them too.”

Different Resonance will be pulling together a prize for the highest scoring team. The specifics are yet to be confirmed, but it will be made up of products supplied by local businesses. In the event of a tie, the highest scoring entrants will be put into a hat and one will be drawn at random.

Hull Summer Quiz, which has a deadline to enter of 23.59 on Tuesday 6th September, can be accessed directly, here – https://forms.gle/k13xdYFpZZzF76F97
