Designs Signage Solutions, a signage and graphics company based in Hull, has been nominated for the Best Illuminated Sign Award at the prestigious national awards, The Sign Awards.
Taking place in Birmingham on 22nd March, their nomination is for the sign they created for Miniso, a shop in London’s Westfield Shopping Centre.
The illuminated sign produced by Designs Signage Solutions for Miniso in Westfield displayed a blend of both modern and traditional signage techniques. The sign consists of over 300 individual acrylic lightboxes with varying depth of returns and has a central 3D logo as its showpiece. The quality and uniqueness of the sign have earned Designs Signage Solutions a nomination in the Illuminated Sign of the Year category.
Oliver Hookem, the Strategy & Development Manager at Designs Signage Solutions, led the production of the nominated sign. He said, “Our project for Miniso UK has been nominated in the illuminated sign of the year category, as it displayed a mix of both modern and traditional signage techniques. The signage piece itself consists of over 300 individual acrylic lightboxes with varying depth of returns and has a central 3D logo as its showpiece.”
In addition to the nomination for the Best Illuminated Sign Award, Designs Signage Solutions has been nominated in the Interior Design category for their work at Level X in Glasgow. The project has a wide range of signage and art items that Designs Signage manufactured and installed, including over 500 metres of iridescent film, a ‘suped up’ gold cart with neon accents, lightbox walls with aperture cut entrance portals, faux neon lettering, wall graphics, internal and external cladding, illuminated flexface signage, tension fabric lightboxes, and floor graphics.
Designs Signage Solutions has been a well-established Hull business for 30 years. The company specializes in producing branded sets and media backdrops for events, interior building vinyl and graphics, eye-catching vehicle designs and branding, as well as shop signs and branding.
