Works to resume on Princes Dock Street following summer break

Improvement works to Princes Dock Street are set to resume next week, Monday 29 September, following a planned summer pause designed to support local businesses during the peak trading season.

The next phase of the project will see the installation of new permanent parklets outside local businesses, enhancing the street’s appeal and usability. These additions will be complemented by final landscaping touches, including the planting of new trees, installation of casual seating, and the addition of pedestrian bollards to improve safety and accessibility.

Councillor Mark Ieronimo, Cabinet Portfolio Holder for Transport and Infrastructure, said: “We’re pleased to be restarting the final phase of improvements to Princes Dock Street.

“These enhancements are part of our wider commitment to creating people-friendly spaces that support local businesses and improve the experience for everyone who lives, works, or visits the city. We thank residents and traders for their continued patience and support as we complete this important project.”

The works are expected to be completed in early 2026, delivering long-term benefits for residents, businesses, and visitors alike by creating a more welcoming and vibrant public space.
