Short term road closures in Beverley and Market Weighton will be in place on Wednesday, 13 July 2022 as the East Riding welcomes the Queen’s Baton Relay to the area.

The Relay is due to begin at Beverley Minster at 10:17 and end near Longcroft School at 10:50. The Baton will then travel to Market Weighton where the Relay will begin at Beverley Road roundabout at 11:16 and finish just before the A1079 roundabout at 11:30.

The council would encourage residents, visitors and business owners in the area to come out to watch the relay on the day, get involved with the celebrations and embrace the arrival of the Queen’s Baton Relay, whilst taking the opportunity to experience the buzz of Birmingham 2022 in the town.

The route for the Baton’s time in East Riding of Yorkshire is as follows:

  • BEVERLEY – STARTS at Beverley Minster (*10:17) – Highgate – Wednesday Market – Toll Gavel – Saturday Market – North Bar Within – New Walk – Molescroft Road – ENDS near Longcroft School (*10:50)
  • MARKET WEIGHTON – STARTS at Beverley Road roundabout (*11:16) – High Street – Holme Road – ENDS near Sandwalk, before A1079 roundabout (*11:30)
