With more than 41 million Spotify streams and killer roles in SIX – The Musical and We Will Rock You, it’s amazing Christina Modestou hasn’t lost her head.
The west-end star is keeping her feet firmly on the stage as she brings her first ever solo show – A Night at The Musicals to Hull New Theatre next Friday night (2 July, 2021).
Number one in the ‘SIX parade’ her version of Don’t Lose Ur Head from the original cast recording of SIX – The Musical has notched up 41,351, 808 streams and remains the most popular download from the smash – hit production.
Her portrayal of Anne Boleyn received rave reviews as did Christina’s roles as the Killer Queen in We Will Rock You – her first professional theatre job, aged just 21 – Nina in the UK Premiere of In The Heights, and Ronnette in Little Shop of Horrors.

Christina’s new show demonstrates why she is held in such high esteem. Her powerful and versatile voice will journey through the musical ages from the early unforgettable classics to today’s absolute belters with music from all-time favourites including West Side Story, My Fair Lady, We Will Rock You, Come From Away, In the Heights, and, of course, SIX.
She said: “I feel so lucky to have worked on so many amazing shows with incredibly talented people. I’ve learnt so much along the way and had the time of my life in the process. But when global lockdown made everything grind to a halt, it made me wonder what’s next for me.
“Then I had an exciting but terrifying idea, one that I’ve been toying with for a while – my first solo show! From here A Night at the Musicals was born. It’s real, it’s happening and I’m so excited. I’ll be playing my, and hopefully your, all-time favourite musical theatre songs from across the decades.”
The impressive set list features medleys from SIX and We Will Rock You and also includes Part of Your World from Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, from The Wizard of Oz and Heaven On Their Minds from Jesus Christ Superstar.
With Spotify numbers still rising, it is no wonder Christina Modestou is regarded as one of ‘The Queens of the Musicals’.
